“Chains of habits are too light to be felt until they are too strong to be broken” Habits make the work effortless and by effortless I do not mean that you won’t have to put any effort in performing them, but I’m referring to that stage when you have done something so many times that now it comes naturally and automatically to you. E.g., brushing your teeth, you don’t have any motivation to do it because it has become a habit and you carry it out with discipline.

Here are 5 habits that I’ve been personally working on and have proved to be life-changing in many aspects.

1. Reading

Reading is something that I’ve always cherished. Books are very knowledgeable and reading them can be life-changing. They aid the process of critical and rational thinking and have the power to change your perspective.

My personal analysis is that through reading, you become a lot more understanding and less impulsive because when you get to read so many opinions of different people on the same topic you start to realize that there is not ‘a’ wrong and ‘a’ right, but there can be ‘many’ wrongs and ‘many’ rights at the same time.

So, at a given point two people can simultaneously be right, it is just the difference of perspective which some people take on their egos and start fighting. So, books make you a lot more accepting and understanding.

Also, when you read books, you try to gather everything that resonates with you and attempt to make a positive change in your life.

2. Working-out regularly

Working out has now become a very important part of my routine. I inculcated this habit in the 1st lockdown and it has stayed with me throughout. I noticed very positive changes in myself since then which motivate me, even more, to keep going.

First things first, I like to work out in the morning; at least 6–8 hours before you work out in the morning is necessary because otherwise after exercising despite feeling energized, you’ll feel fatigued and drowsy, which happened with me. So I started sleeping early so that I could get proper hours of sleep. Here I implanted discipline to sleep early and wake up early.

Secondly, you start to eat right. If you work out every single day and then eat like a maniac then you’ll see no difference. When this realization strikes and you don’t want your efforts to go in vain you turn towards a healthier diet, because you want results to show up! So, hence a healthier diet.

I prefer doing HIIT and Yoga, and trust me on this, yoga has bought a very enormous change in my life. it has bought a sense of calmness, peace, and stabilization. Yoga also aids in releasing all the emotional and physical stress we tend to hold in our muscles and HIIT has made me very active.

So, in conclusion, working out is a solution to a lot of problems and surely the best habit that anyone would inculcate.

3. Making a to-do list every single morning

Making a to-do list should be the first task of your day because even if you wake up early and if you don’t have anything to do you’ll end up wasting your time and energy on unproductive activities. When you have a clear vision and you know what you have to do, you will be able to increase your productivity to a higher level and also you get more done when you focus on high-value activities.

It will also help you to make large and overwhelming projects manageable and doable because you take one step at a time and you know exactly in how many parts are you going to break your task into, in order to complete it as effectively and easily as you can!

It is scientifically proven that when you write your goals, the cells in your brain stimulate and will make you want to achieve your goal even more.

4. Gratitude

This might sound unfamiliar but I’ve consciously put an effort to make Gratitude a habit, even if it is for the smallest of things. We must always have that feeling of acknowledgment and appreciation for people’s efforts.

Gratitude is a beautiful thing to be practiced, it is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. It will furthermore help you to build positive and constructive relationships.

If humans don’t respect and value one of their kind then who will?

When you show gratitude towards others they too will respect you and it also boosts their self-esteem.

5. Be detached from the result

This is one of the best things that I’ve learned so far, to be completely detached from the result and trusting the process. We always obsess over “what is it gonna look like?” or “is it going to do well?” that we completely forget to be in the present and give it our all. Also, thinking too much about the outcome can cause us to quit our endeavor because if the result does not match our expectations we tend to give up rather than persisting.

So the only solution of this keep yourself engaged in as many things as you can without being closely attached to the result, just trust the process and whatever is in your destiny is already aligning and will come to you in the right way and at the right time.

You just have to keep exploring new things, discovering possibilities, and keeping yourself occupied in learning and experiencing different things.

Thank you for reading, I hope it helps!
